Can Your Dry Situation Live?

Inspiration: God, Mother, and Ezekiel 37: 1-14

My Story:
For several months, I had been strongly seeking God about my life and my purpose. With 3 decades under my belt, I needed clarity more than anything else. I knew that since I believed in Him and was still amongst the land of the living, then there had to be a specific plan for me for each season of my life. It seems as though we seek more of the plan when we are either in a valley situation or just feel lost in the shuffle of life’s playlist. I came to a point where I refused to live the rest of my life for the world and not my Creator.

I take “seek ye first the Kingdom of God” to heart and was seeking God for the answer. But you do know that God uses people, places and things to speak to us. But out of reverence, I went to God FIRST! Then on Memorial Day, I decided to give my mother a call and vent. Here’s the thing… I know that God has equipped me with gifts, talents and abilities. I was wondering what does God want me to do in this season? My flesh tries to figure everything out causing me to think that this one path will cause me to have substantial financial increase. I feel that since I have invested time and currently investing money in pursuing my CPA, then that’s what I should focus on. However my heart at this time is ministry. So here I am wondering what am I supposed to be do in this season? How can I work a full time job, study for the CPA exam, and be committed to my ministry assignment?

So I finally released the thoughts and issues that had been plaguing me, and my mom was able to render inspired spiritual advise. She basically quoted Matthew 6:33 that says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”. She went on to say not to worry about a thing and that God will perfect everything that is concerning me. We both agreed that everything that I’m supposed to do will be done at the right time. Lastly, she said that if I were to continue to seek Him then blessings will overtake me.

As I got off the phone, I felt peace about what step I needed to make, but I fully embrace confirmations from any wise and spirit lead source. I then uttered, Lord it’s all about You, but I’m gonna need you to cover as well as increase my finances. But most importantly, perfect the gifts You have given to me.

I then felt a strong urge to take a 1 hour nap. Since I have a true love of sleeping, this is one urge I hardly ever turn down. As I was waking up prior to hearing the sound of my alarm, I heard, “Ezekiel, can these dry bones live?” Then I heard it a second time. Now I can truly say that this had to have been the voice of The Lord, because the prophet Ezekiel was not on my mind, neither any dry bones!!

I’ll be honest and say that I knew I should have gotten up right then to read Ezekiel 37, but I snoozed another 5 minutes. Once I did fully awake, I read the following:

The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord ! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’ ” So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’ ” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army. Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. (Ezekiel 37:1-13 NIV)

Ok, so much in this passage that I have heard and read about on several occasions. But on this Memorial Day 2013, I heard the voice of God once again, “prophesy [open up your mouth and speak] over everything that concerns you and just like the winds that gathered together to give breathe to the once again formed flesh, I will breathe life to what you consider dry! But you have to believe that I can do it!”
Confirmation! Thanks God! But that’s not all….

If you think about and think back to the many accounts where God spoke a promise, relayed a condition, or performed a miracle, somebody had to do something. So interesting how Ezekiel’s answer to God’s question was “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.” Ezekiel really didn’t answer the question! If that was some of us, we would have said, “Um, that’s not what I asked you!” But in this case Ezekiel’s act of faith was THE answer that allowed God to once again reveal how mighty and all powerful He is. So I began to verbally speak to everything concerning me, and I believe that God is going to once again show himself strong.

Relevant Back Then:
God’s use of this dry bone to flesh experience could have been in relation to what Judah was facing. During the time of the prophet Ezekiel, Judah was held captive by Babylon and scattered in a foreign land. You can say that their situation was dry. But God promised that after 70 years, he would breathe life back to their situation by bringing them back to there home.

Relevant Today:
So to you, we will experience dry moments. Moments that feel like all moisture has dissipated. But this message reveals that if God can make scattered bones become flesh with life, there is nothing impossible for Him to do in your life, But do your part and prophesy over WHATEVER it is concerning you. This may seem awkward or a bit much, but do not be ashamed to do what God leads you to do. As I am typing this, I am hearing that God will take the foolish things to confound the wise. Don’t be shame! Step out on faith an do IT!

So to answer the question…can one suddenly be completely healed from cancer, sickness, and/or disease? Can one experience a supernatural financial increase? Can a dry marriage become fully restored and reflect God’s design of marriage? Can a broken family household be on one accord? Can one without a job or abruptly laid off from one have a supernatural door opened? Can one battling an addiction become truly delivered from the stronghold? Can one suffering from mental depression once again be in their right mind? Can one with a criminal record become saved and get the job of their dreams? Can God do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ever think or imagine?

Yes!!!!!!’ Hallelujah!
Thank the most high God that Your dry situation can live! So start speaking and watch God! Nothing is impossible with God!!

Isn’t He awesome! Yeah, he’s a Big deal!

Thank you for such inspiring and motivating words of encouragement. All of us go through dry seasons in life, and consequently need times of refreshing and renewing to elevate us above the circumstances. We all know that God can do miracles. The challenge is believing He will do them for you in your current situation. And like the three Hebrews said in the fiery furnace, even if He chooses not to deliver, He is still able. We just have to always remember that, regardless of how it appears, all things are working together for our good. He is that kind of God.
